Provision licences to users
Subscription Admins (SAs) and Technical Admins (TAs) can assign licences to users for supported tools through Console.
For details, see Tools that require licences.
Prerequisites
Ensure the following:
- You are a Subscription Admin or Technical Admin
- The tool is included in your SHIP-HATS subscription
- Sufficient licences are available for the tool
- The user has an active TechPass account
Choose the correct provisioning guide
- If your tool is part of a bundle (e.g., Atlassian or Sonatype), provisioning grants access to all tools included in the bundle.
- If your tool is listed as an individual tool, provisioning applies only to that specific tool.
Select the relevant tool below to continue.
How to provision licences
Follow the relevant tool-specific topic for detailed steps.
| Category | Tool / Bundle | Access granted | Provisioning guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bundled licences | Atlassian (Jira & Confluence) | Access to Jira and Confluence | Jira Confluence |
| Bundled licences | Sonatype (Nexus IQ & Nexus Repository) | Access to Nexus IQ and Nexus Repository | Nexus IQ Nexus Repository |
| Individual tool | GitLab | Access to GitLab only | Provision GitLab licences |
| Individual tool | Jira Service Management | Access to Jira Service Management only | Provision JSM licences |
If a user already holds the same licence under another SHIP-HATS subscription, the Console prevents duplicate provisioning. In this case, grant the user access within the tool instead.
After provisioning, users will be able to access the selected tools based on assigned licences.
⚠️ If licence quota is reached
If there are no available licences:
- Increase the licence quantity in your subscription. See Update licences or units. In this page, select the Update licences or units tab.
- Then return to this page to provision licences.
