SonarQube Enterprise edition usage and billing policy

SHIP-HATS has scanning limits for SonarQube Enterprise edition based on the units subscribed, where each unit corresponds to specific ranges of lines of code (LOC). Exceeding your plan’s limit results in additional charges as explained in the below example.

Scan limits and costs

Subscription units Lines of Code (LOC) range
1 Scan up to 400K
2 Scan > 400K and up to 800K
3 Scan > 800K and up to 1200K

Public officers can refer to the pricing details using their GSIB device.

For example,

When you subscribe to one unit of SonarQube Enterprise Edition, you can scan up to 400K Lines of Code (LOC). If you exceed that limit at any point of time in a monthly billing cycle, you will be charged as shown in the following table.

Unit(s) subscribed Lines of Code (LOC) range Units charged
1 unit up to 400K Pay for 1 unit
1 unit > 400K and up to 800K Pay for 2 units
1 unit > 800K and up to 1200K Pay for 3 units

- If you exceed the 400K LOC limit at any point during your monthly billing cycle after subscribing to SonarQube Enterprise Edition, you will be charged for the higher unit rate applicable for that exceeded limit.
- This applies for the entire monthly billing cycle, regardless of whether you later reduce your LOC usage back below the limit. For example, assuming you subscribed to 1 unit of Enterprise edition in July, and if you breach the limit by scanning 420K LOC on 02 August, and then reduce it below 400K LOC on 03 August, you will still be charged for 2 units for that monthly billing cycle.

Usage alerts

The subscription admins will receive email alerts once you reach 80% of the scan limit applicable for your SonarQube Enterprise units. If your usage is between 80% and 90%, we send weekly alerts, and if your usage exceeds 90%, we send daily alerts.

Recommendation

  • We recommend agencies and projects use the Community Edition to scan experimental or supporting branches. However, the Community Edition does not support branch analysis. As a result, scans from different experimental branches are reflected as the latest scan on the main (or master) branch in SonarQube Community Edition.
  • If you are using Enterprise edition, monitor your usage regularly. Subscription Admins can view the LOC scanned in your projects.
