Setting up StackOps Elastic
After successfully subscribing to StackOps, set up your hosted Elastic deployment to get started. This involves creating a deployment and establishing a secure connection with it. Once the deployment is set up, you can begin using it to monitor your applications. There are two main user interfaces:
- Console—The interface for managing your StackOps subscription and deployment.
- Kibana—The Elastic-provided interface for visualising, analysing, managing, and monitoring data. The Kibana URL is unique to each deployment.
| Step | Description | Who can do this? |
|---|---|---|
| Step 1: Create a StackOps Elastic deployment | Create StackOps Elastic deployments as required for your environments and associate it with a Techbiz system, which can have multiple deployments each. | Subscription Admins |
| Step 2.1: Create a private endpoint | Begin establishing a private connection between your cloud environment and the StackOps Elastic deployment by creating a private endpoint. | Users with the appropriate permissions in AWS or Azure. |
| Step 2.2: Create a traffic filter | Whitelist the private endpoint by creating a traffic filter. | Subscription Admins and Technical Admins |
| Step 2.3: Associate the traffic filter | Associate the traffic filter to your StackOps Elastic deployment so that it can begin receiving data. | Subscription Admins and Technical Admins |
| Step 2.4: Verify the private endpoint | Verify that your cloud environment can successfully connect to your StackOps Elastic deployment. | Users with the appropriate permissions in AWS or Azure. |
