AI coding tools
SHIP-HATS provides AI coding tools to help engineers write, review, and ship code faster. Each tool supports different agentic or non-agentic capabilities and can be used for specific Classification (Code and Data Classification) and Sensitivity (Data Sensitivity) levels.

Before using a tool, identify:
which tools are available to you based on your organisation and user type.
whether the tool supports agentic or non-agentic capabilities.
what classification and sensitivity level the tool supports up to โ see the Supports up to column in the tables below.

Available AI coding tools
The AI coding tools available to you depend on your organisation (agency) and user type (public officer or augmented resource).
๐ก Most tools are currently free. Claude Code for GovTech ARs is charged based on actual usage โ see Pricing and billing. Charges for other tools will be introduced at a later date.

Prerequisites
- TechPass account
- SEED device
- For CII/SII systems, additional system-level approval is required before using agentic AI tools, even if the tools are available on SHIP-HATS. See Security and Sensitive Classification.
Request access
Claude Code (GovTech only)
- Public officers โ Request access through the Equip portal.
- GovTech ARs โ Contact your Team Lead or Project Lead to provision Claude Code.
For Augmented Resources (ARs), access to agentic AI tools may take up to 2 business days after form submission. Please wait at least 2 business days before raising a support ticket if you have not received access.
