Requirements for AI tool clearance
The following are our general guidelines for clearing any AI tool to be used as a coding assistant.
System and classification
Code classification is not the same as system classification. While your code classification may often align with your system classification (e.g., a RESTRICTED system typically contains RESTRICTED code), this is not always the case.
We strongly encourage you to refer to the Code Classification Overview and classify your code and data independently based on its sensitivity and risk level.
Proper classification enhances security and prepares for the future separation of system, data, and code classifications. For guidance on which tools you may use based on your classification, see Classification and sensitivity levels.
