MCP for Claude Code

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is available to all Claude Code users.

Supported MCPs

• SHIP-HATS Jira
• SHIP-HATS Confluence
• SHIP-HATS GitLab

Prerequisites

Claude Code must already be set up on your device.

Register and set up MCP

1. Go to go.gov.sg/mcp-gateway and register for MCP access.

2. Open a terminal and update gt CLI by running: gt update.

3. Configure Claude Code for MCP by running: gt tools configure claude-code

   Note: First-time users may need to wait for managed settings to sync to your device.

4. Open Claude Code and run /mcp.

5. Authenticate with the MCP gateway using your TechPass account.

6. Authorise access to the downstream MCP service (e.g., Jira, Confluence, GitLab).

7. Verify that the MCP connection status shows connected.

   ⚠️ Access only data resources classified up to Restricted (Sensitive-Normal). Before connecting to a Confluence space or Jira project, verify its classification level. If you are unsure, check with the space or project owner.
