StackOps Dynatrace FAQs
General
Yes, GCC+ is supported. However, StackOps Dynatrace does not currently have an active GCC+ footprint, as there has not been demand or a confirmed use case so far.
Yes, support depends on the underlying technology stack rather than whether the application is classified as Commercial Off-The-Shelf. Monitoring options may include OneAgent, logs, metrics, APIs, OpenTelemetry, Real User Monitoring, or extensions, depending on the application technology.
Yes. Training will be provided to agencies that have subscribed to StackOps Dynatrace. The training will help users understand the basic features and how to use Dynatrace effectively for monitoring and troubleshooting.
Onboarding
Most onboarding requests are provisioned shortly after they are approved by the StackOps Dynatrace team. Each request goes through a review and approval step before your Dynatrace environment is set up, so timing depends on how quickly the request is approved. Once approved, your individual compartment, access, and user groups are created automatically.
After you are added in Console, your access is synced into StackOps Dynatrace and granted through your agency’s assigned user group. There may be a short delay between being added and access becoming active, as membership is synced on a schedule. You will also need to log in to StackOps Dynatrace at least once for access to fully take effect. If you still cannot see your data after logging in, you can contact the StackOps Dynatrace support team.
Each agency is provisioned with its own scoped area in StackOps Dynatrace and access is restricted to that area. Data is isolated between agencies: your users can only view your agency’s own monitoring data, dashboards, and applications.
Agent and installation
No. Automatic agent updates are disabled to ensure better control over changes. The team follows a controlled rollout approach by testing the agent release in QA before deploying it to production.
Typically, no. On Windows, the Dynatrace OneAgent installer can automatically install and manage Npcap where required. Separate installation is generally not needed unless there are specific security or compatibility requirements.
Data, security, and compliance
Yes. Dynatrace SaaS supports AWS Asia Pacific (Singapore) as a data storage region. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256, with dedicated storage and encryption keys for each environment.
Data retention varies by data type. For example, logs, traces, and metrics may have different default retention periods. For the latest details on data retention, refer to the Dynatrace documentation.
StackOps Dynatrace log monitoring is primarily designed for operational visibility, real-time troubleshooting, and fault detection. It is not intended to replace long-term log archival, compliance auditing, or security log forwarding requirements unless specifically integrated for those purposes.
