Manage Fortify on Demand (FOD) users

Subscription Admins (SAs) and Project Admins (PAs) can view, add and remove users who can access FOD applications.

Alternatively, you can also use User groups to manage users who can access a FOD application.

Prerequisites

Ensure the following:

  • You are a Subscription Admin (SA) for the subscription, or a Project Admin (PA) for a SHIP-HATS project within the subscription.

  • Identify the users whom you want to manage.

  • The user you want to add has at least one SHIP-HATS tool licence (for example Atlassian, GitLab, Sonatype, or JSM).

FOD does not require a dedicated licence. However, users in this group should have at least one Tools that require licence.

Steps

  1. In Console, go to Products > SHIP-HATS, and select the required subscription to open the Workspace.

For detailed steps, see Access Workspace.

    console-manage-fod-app

  2. Click Tools > FOD.

  3. Select the required SHIP-HATS project.

  4. Select the ellipsis (…) next to the Application name and then select Manage.

  5. In the User access tab, you can:

    manage-fod-users

    • Search for an existing user — Enter the user’s name or TechPass email address. Matching records will appear in the search results.

    • Add user — Click Add users and then enter the user’s name or email address linked to their TechPass account.

    • Remove user — Click the bin icon corresponding to the user record.

    Things to note

  • Adding a user grants access to the selected FOD application only. It does not assign a role automatically.
  • A user must be assigned a role separately to perform actions in the application. See Manage Fortify on Demand (FOD) user roles.
  • Removing a user removes their access to the selected FOD application only.
  • Removing a user from the application does not remove any licences assigned to the user.
