New to StackOps Elastic (Serverless)?

This guide covers StackOps Elastic Serverless. For the hosted deployment guide, see Elastic (Hosted).

StackOps Elastic Serverless is one of the central monitoring/observability components within the Singapore Government Tech Stack (SGTS). Tailored for the Whole-of-Government (WOG), it offers a fully managed, autoscaling observability platform with no clusters to provision, scale, or maintain. Agencies gain immediate access to centralised log monitoring, data aggregation, visualisation, and security features across cloud applications and infrastructure.

By leveraging StackOps Elastic Serverless, agencies can improve system reliability, enhance application security, and streamline DevSecOps collaboration.

Why Elastic Serverless?

Traditional monitoring typically focuses on “inside-out” metrics — simple indicators of whether a server is up or down — which often results in the “watermelon effect,” where dashboards appear green while users experience significant degradation.

Observability adopts both “inside-out” and “outside-in” approaches, prioritising user centricity and multi-signal correlation across logs, metrics, and traces to answer why and how a problem occurred rather than merely when it started.

StackOps Elastic Serverless delivers this observability with zero infrastructure overhead (no clusters to size, patch, or scale). The platform automatically handles scaling and maintenance, letting agencies focus entirely on monitoring their applications.

Architecture

StackOps Elastic Serverless consists of two projects in a suite, each serving a distinct purpose:

  • Observability project — For cloud resource monitoring, application performance monitoring (APM), synthetic monitoring, log analysis, alerting, and custom dashboards.
  • Security project — For SIEM, attack discovery, and cloud security posture management.

Data is collected from the tenant’s environment (GCC on AWS/Azure), securely transmitted via private endpoints (AWS PrivateLink), and processed within the StackOps Elastic platform. Each project provides its own Kibana interface for visualising, analysing, and managing data.

For full architecture details, see StackOps Elastic architecture.
