Intro to Data Hubs and Data Mesh
Data Hubs
We will be expanding this section in future iterations of the playbook
Data Hub is an architectural approach that unites storage, data integration, and orchestration tools. The components in a data hub include a combination of data lakes and data warehouses. This provides a centralised system for storage, definition, and delivery. Data Hubs provide a single point of access, allowing for better visibility and security.
Data Mesh
We will be expanding this section in future iterations of the playbook
Data Mesh is a decentralised architecture that organises data by specific business domains and teams, leveraging on a self-service approach. There are four main pillars of the data mesh architecture. These pillars include:
- Domain Ownership
- Self-Serve Domain Platform
- Data as a Product
- Federated Governance
